What strategies can we apply?
Recycling and reuse: Reuse objects as much as possible and recycle materials such as plastic, glass and paper so that they can be reused instead of being thrown away.
Compost: Instead of throwing away organic waste, such as food, it can be used as compost. In this way, food that was previously going to be thrown away can be used as soil.
Incineration: Consists of burning waste at a very high temperature to reduce its volume and produce energy that can be used for thermal energy.
Energy recovery: By using waste as fuel to produce energy or heat, the need to produce fossil fuels is reduced.
